Roasted Pork Belly – 火肉

One of the iconic Cantonese foods roasted pork belly or 火肉. During COVID, I had all sorts of cravings that weren’t easily available so I did a lot of research on how to make this and some of my favorite recipes are below. Two of these are even around how to make this in an air fryer which I’ve found more and more people are starting to have as an appliance at home.

Roasted pork belly has a bit of spices and most importantly an amazing crunchy skin. In my experience, too much fat is unattractive and I end up spitting that portion out. Ideally, pick a cut with more meat and less fat. Recently, Costco has started carrying slabs of pork belly along with skin which has made making this much easier.
